Applications open 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, for a new Minnesota Department of Natural Resources grant program called “No Child Left Inside,” which is intended to help more children fish, hunt, hike, bike or simply learn more about nature. Public entities and nonprofit organizations serving youth under age 18 are eligible to apply for this first phase of the program. Funding can be used for outdoor recreation and education equipment, transportation and related expenses. Applications will be reviewed and funds will be awarded on a rolling basis, and the DNR will accept applications until all funds have been awarded. For details on the grant program and how to apply, visit the DNR’s No Child Left Inside grant page.
