Bluefin Tuna Arrive In Morehead City North Carolina

The General category fishery opened up today December 1, 2019 and two Bluefin Tuna we’re landed in Morehead City.

Bradley Brown and Adam Grant hooked up early, bringing the first fish of the season back to the docks.

Up next was Riley Adkins and John Charles of the Pelagic Hunter Sportfishing. The brought in a 95 inch 520 pound fish.

The adjusted December 2019 subquota is 28.9 mt, and the default limit of one fish per day/trip.

This applies to commercial Atlantic Tunas General category permitted vessels and to Highly Migratory Species (HMS) Charter/Headboat category permitted vessels with a commercial sale endorsement when fishing commercially for bluefin tuna.
