Tar Heel Tournaments Hit Stride During June

Some excellent catches during the May N.C. tournaments have served notice there are some large fish biting along the North Carolina Coast  and that should kick into second gear during June.  June brings a mixture of billfish, king mackerel and inshore tournaments to Tar Heel fishermen.  There isn’t an Outer Banks Tournament during June, but fishermen have multiple opportunities to stand on the stage holding a big fish from Morehead City to Ocean Isle.

June tournaments begin on June 1 and continue through June 30, with events every weekend and several weekends double and triple booked.  A pair of tournaments began earlier and will conclude during June.  There are numerous events throughout the month and the list should include something that interests all competitive fishermen.

Point, Click, Fish will be represented at several tournaments this month.  The first PCF Live tournament will be the Carolinas Redfish Series Tournament 1 for 2016.  This tournament will be held from Chasin’ Tails Outdoors on the Atlantic Beach Causeway  and begins with the Final Registration and Captain’s Meeting on June 3, followed by fishing on June 4. Live Weigh-In coverage will begin at 2:00 P.M. June 4.  The PCF Ultimate Fishing Truck will be on site both days.

The early weather forecast for this tournament has the winds at less than 10 knots, but a strong probability of rain and thunderstorms.  This is a new moon and the Lunar Tables predict the best bite of the day to be around noon.  Fishermen will check out at safe light and head many different directions between the Neuse River and the New River.  Each team keeps its two largest slot red drum and returns to Atlantic Beach.  Not only are there prizes for this tournament, but competitors receive points towards qualifying for the Carolina Redfish Series Championship in September.

Point, Click, Fish will be on location at the Redfish Grill at 711 Evans Street during the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.  The PCF Ultimate Fishing truck will be in the Redfish Grill parking lot during weigh-ins all six days and PCF will update the standings regularly.  The PCF Mobile Command Center Trailer has been completed and if the wrap has been installed, it will also be on site at the Redfish Grill.  Competitors and spectators are invited to stop by and check everything out.

Big Rock fishermen are allowed to fish four of the six days.  Sometimes repairs and responsibilities dictate which days are fished, but the fishermen scan seawater thermal charts, watch weather forecasts and moon phases to plan their preferred fishing days.  The moon is filling from first quarter to full on Sunday night after the tournament and the Lunar Tables predict the best fishing for the week to be at dawn and dusk on Monday and around noon on Saturday.  There could be another last minute win for the tournament this year.

The PCF Mobile Command Center is the second part of Point, Click, Fish’s drive to provide the ultimate in tournament coverage.  PCF tournament services begin with a website design team that can build tournament websites that handle everything from registration, to tournament news and live streaming weigh-ins, with instant leaderboard updates.  Then, for those tournaments who would like, the PCF Mobile Command Center trailer can be set up on-site  to be tournament headquarters, the weigh center, the stage for captains meetings and awards ceremonies and it comes with an interview room for media to talk with the tournament winners.

PCF aims to be the one-click link between fishermen and tournaments.  Information will be posted here on the PCF website, plus on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
