NBOA Acquires the Southern Kingfish Association
SARASOTA, FL, April 15, 2014 â The National Boat Owners Association (NBOA) announces its acquisition of the Southern Kingfish Association and Tournament Trail (SKA).
A longtime partner of the 23 year old tournament series, NBOA is looking forward to continuing the SKA legacy. Anglers can expect the same dedication and professionalism theyâre used to from the NBOA brand. The ownership change will not have any negative impact on pre-scheduled tournaments or operations. SKA headquarters will move to Sarasota, with NBOA staff Jim Butler and Erin Henshaw leading management of the organization.
âIt was a natural move to assume ownership of an entity weâve worked so closely with over the years,â said Jeffrey Berndt, NBOA Vice President. âWeâre just happy weâre able to see this sport through, and able to give the anglers and fellow sponsors what they want.â He went on to add, âExpect good things from the NBOA team. Weâre excited and canât wait to get started.â
NBOA staff will be working closely with SKA board members and anglers to ensure a smooth transition. Their primary focus for 2014 is to reconnect with anglers and increase participation across the southeast.
