RACINE, Wis., — Minn Kota®, the leader in trolling motor innovation, will debut a new Riptide Terrova® trolling motor with 87-inch shaft at the American Sportfishing Association’s International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST).
Now, anglers on larger saltwater boats will have another shaft length option for their trolling motor needs. The new Minn Kota Terrova with 87-inch shaft joins the 72-inch offering and provides 112-pounds of thrust and comes with i-Pilot® Link™ technology for networking with Humminbird® fish finder units as part of the One-Boat Network™. The bow-mount motor offers a clean set up and stow and deploy lever for easy hand or foot use.
“The addition of a trolling motor with 87-inch shaft is part of our commitment to providing solutions for anglers as they seek to find and catch more fish,” said Minn Kota Brand Manager, Brad Henry. “Saltwater anglers are increasingly recognizing the benefits of having a trolling motor for key fishing applications and we’ve delivered a solution for anglers and captains with larger boats, so they can utilize key Minn Kota features like Spot-Lock and the One-Boat Network.”
As part of the One-Boat Network, the new Minn Kota trolling motor features i-Pilot Link GPS technology. The new motor is also equipped with Bluetooth® compatibility allowing anglers to control the trolling motor from the Minn Kota mobile app and make software updates wirelessly. Anglers can utilize i-Pilot Link to control their trolling motor from the Humminbird unit, the mobile app or the i-Pilot Link remote to “follow” a contour at a set speed – with the press of a button the boat will automatically follow the exact path. The motor also offers Minn Kota’s Spot-Lock™ feature, the most accurate electronic GPS anchor ever, giving you unparalleled confidence to stay exactly where you want to be.
“When I first started running a Minn Kota on my 25-foot Parker, I got a lot of strange looks,” said BJ Silvia, renowned saltwater captain. “But now that guys in my area have seen what a Minn Kota can do in terms of boat positioning, they’re all looking for ways to install one. This 87-inch motor will open the door for bigger boats to get the advantage of the One-Boat Network.”
The new trolling motors are compatible with Humminbird SOLIX®, second-generation HELIX®, and ONIX®models and will be available in the fall of 2019. For more information visit MinnKotaMotors.com.
