2026 Tournament Coverage Begins at the CPM Billfish Tournament
The 2026 tournament season officially begins this week as PointClickFish heads to the Chris Perri Memorial Billfish Tournament in Morehead City.
Over the last several years, the CPM Billfish Tournament has continued to grow into one of the most meaningful events on the North Carolina tournament circuit. While the event is still growing, it has already built a reputation for being extremely well run and centered around something much bigger than tournament fishing itself.
PointClickFish has really enjoyed working with the tournament and watching it continue to evolve each season. It’s been great seeing the support from the fishing community grow while the event continues building something special in Morehead City.
At the heart of the tournament is a mission focused on raising money for AML research while also sharing Chris’s love of fishing with the next generation through the CPM Kids Tournament.
One of the best parts of the week is the Kids Fishing Day. It gives young fishermen and women a chance to get out on the water, learn, compete, and experience what makes the fishing community so unique. You can tell how much effort goes into making it a memorable experience for the kids and families involved.
The Captains Party and Awards Dinner have also become major highlights of the tournament week. Both events bring together teams, sponsors, supporters, friends, and families while helping raise funds that directly support the cause behind the tournament.
Funds raised through the event support an endowment in Chris’s name at UNC Health where they directly impact AML research, patients, and healthcare providers.
